As we finished our tour of the Pacific Northwest, we were delighted to be able to spend a day in Seattle, touring and touristing with Seb and Amanda.
We met at the base of the Space Needle, where the Museum of Pop Culture celebrates all the nerdy things that are so dear to our hearts.
Peek-a-boo “Play Freebird!” Tower of power (… chords). Shiny! The best Disney villain. That’s a fact, Jack! “It’s a-me, Mario!” Alas, poor Yorick. Not everything is beautiful. Glenn owned most of these. D&D and Magic cards … in a museum. Glenn’s life is complete.
After a tasty lunch of German Kebabs at Doner Box, we strolled to the bustling must-see of Pike Place Market. Being amid such crowds after a year of semi-isolation was jarring, to say the least.
No, MY sandwich is bigger. Let your flag fly. Inclusivity. Requisite Space Needle Pic Requisite Seattle Great Wheel pic. There were many, many people. A fishmonger, actively not mongering fish. Crowds = masks. Another requisite selfie. Rachel’s Ginger Beer. Apparently, this Gum Wall is a thing. Yes, it’s exactly what you’re afraid it might be. Dessert time! Memorable street art.
Games and dinner back at Amanda and Sebastian’s place were tasty and fun, but of course the highlight of our visit was getting to meet Charlie and Gimli!
Look deep into my eyes … you are hypnotized … bring catnip. You may adore me now.
